week 13

This week we presented our 20% project. Even though Alex and I mostly worked on the presentation and Nadia did some little editing as well as Andrew. Some us worked well together, but we ended up finishing right on time. We didn't prepare as good as I had hoped and planned, but since we all knew what we had done it was easy for us to just talk about it in front of class. I admit that my presentation kind of sucked mostly from me, but I suppose that's what i get for not being completely organized. Overall with this project I learned about leadership skills and organization skills as well as learning that you have to work well with others even if you don't really want to that you have to learn to believe in others to succeed as a whole group. Although our project was about teen health I mostly used this project to learn many different techniques that will be useful in life. for example learning how to balance out time and friends, knowing how to control myself when I'm with friends having fun but also doing work, I learned how to teach others how to use different soft wares while expanding my own computer skills, and most of all I learned how to work well with others and guiding my group towards success.

week 12

Well at this point Alex and I where really stressed out about our presentation. Not knowing how or what we where going to do. Although we all had busy schedules we where able to finish in time. I admit its not the best presentation or what I had in mind, but its all we could do with the little time we had due to having other work to do. I think we all learned that we should use our time wisely and not procrastinate. Although in the end I believe we did an acceptable job. I'm glad that we finished our 20% project, but we wont continue it because it takes up too much time and we don't even think people will look at our website. I'm surprised that we actually accomplished what we wanted to do, knowing my group you would have doubted also, but I'm glad and proud of my group.

Week 11

So this week I can say that we did more progress compared to others. We finally decided on who's doing what and when we are doing it. Although Andrew has shown no interest on helping at all. It's true that he finished the final touches for the video, but that's just because I had to talk him into it to make sure he actually does something that we can present. Anyways I was reading over the blogs of my group members and I realized that Andrew has been lying about talking with us, he has no idea what we are doing and I have tried to include him in conversations but he's being rude and disrespectful lately. I understand that my relationship with him is not as before, but I'm not letting it get in the way of my school work like he is. If I hadn't made him do the final touches on the video I would have kicked him out already due to his lack of effort. Although I wont be that mean, because I don't want him to fail. So Nadia, Alex, and I have decided that Alex will start the prezi and do the outlines, so then I can go on and put in information and not have to worries about designing it. I will include screenshots of our website and a trailer of our recipe video. In the screen shots I will separate them by each of our projects. I was also thinking of including what each of us leaned. For example I learned leadership skills as well as organization skills and how my group members each learned how to use technology a little bit further.

week 10

This week me and my group members did absolutely no talking in class about our project, but I have some ideas on how we will be doing our presentation for our 20% project. I want to make it inspiring, entertaining, and funny. I'm planning to include a little trailer of the healthy recipe that we did and also show the progress that we have done in our website. I will have to edit some stuff on the website or I'll tell someone to do it..Probably Alex I trust her the most..Shh. After I finished the last blog, I went to go look at the recipe video that was finished by Andrew and I wasn't able to open it. I think its probably because he didn't publish it like a movie, even though I told him to. Well I will have to discuss that with him tomorrow. Hopefully I remember and hopefully he does it correctly.

week 9

This week me Nadia and I discussed what we will present for our 20% project. We came to the conclusion that we will discuss a little about our teen health website and then we will show a piece of our healthy recipe video.I haven't really done much with my group they don't seem to be as enthusiastic about the presentation as I am. They seem a little down due to all the testing and school work even though this is also school work, but oh well. I have tried my best, but sometimes I don't wanna try to hard enough to force them..I feel like I have to hold their hands to finish something..Which I guess I'm OK with since I don't want our group to fail. So, with that said, I plan to get ideas from my group members to contribute to the presentation. I don't think there's anything else we can do. Since we already made the website and published it and we made a healthy recipe video...Which reminds me that I have it finished... I'll post it in the next blog or this one...Anyways this weekend I will focus on the presentation and try to think of a way to make it funny and entertaining even if it i have to embarrass myself in front of class. I will team up with Alex to start the presentation so we can take turns working on it and sharing ideas, because I don't know what's been going on with Andrew lately and well Nadia doesn't have stable internet so we tent to just share ideas in class. Even though we have all
separated a bit i will try to put the pieces together for the sake of our grade and for the success of our 20% project.

week 8

Sadly I haven't done anything with my group.We haven't really talked about anything about our 20% project. I feel awful, although I know other groups anything either, but I still feel bad, We where doing fine up til the whole testing and the CST, AP, and SAT.....These test are what have made me so stressed out and unorganized. Also its not just in this class its in most of my classes that i have been lagging on I've mostly been trying to focus on my AP Spanish class..Anyways about the project I have recently made up my mind that I'm not going to do most of the work anymore. I have decided to ask Andrew to edit the final touches and do some voice overs for the video on the recipe. Since he doesn't have SAT or AP tests to worry about like me and Nadia do...So, I hope he does as he promises and doesn't let the group down..Also hoping he does a good job..

week 7

These past few weeks have been the most stressful days in my life. I have been the most busy and worried I have been ever. I did say in my last blog that I will do the final touches and I have failed to do that. I feel very awful about that, I am sorry. So this week I will edit the video and finish it to post it here and in our website. Everyone in my group have been really busy lately, but we have to think positively to keep on going witch I will be doing when i talk to my group. I think I have learned a lot about a lot of stuff while doing this project. I would also really like to know your opinions on the video on the healthy meal recipe. I think my group members would really like to know as well as I.

Week 6

Last Friday we planned to finally editing our videos and also to start organizing our stuff (videos, website,blogs) to sum it all up to complete our 20% project with the help of our teacher's shared document(thank you).. Today on Monday Nadia, Andrew, and I met up at my place and we did extraordinary progress. I still cant believe the amount of work that we got done. Today I showed Nadia and Andrew how to use Microsoft Movie Maker which they learned fairly quickly and they started editing on their own right away which was very convenient to me meaning I didn't have to do all of the editing this time. Thankfully my mom bought us pizza so we where full of energy,although this is a teen health project...(we are Hippocrates) Although we did get much done today I still need to make the final touches like the into and the last part of the video to sum it all up. Which I will try to do tomorrow, because today I want to spent some time with my mom but, tomorrow I have this after school class till 6. So hopefully I'll still be awake to finish the video so I can post the link here below.

week 5

I've finally convinced Andrew to start on his work out although he is barely starting today. This week I didn't really have any time to talk with my group about what we are going to do this week So I suppose this week I'm going to focus on my own fitness. I believe my partner Alex will also like this idea of doing this in like a group sort of thing. So I supposed we could start by writing down what we eat. Also I got this new black bored so I can create a calender where I write down what I eat and write down the work outs I plan to do that day so I can keep track of what I do or what we do in a group. Since my parents never supported me on getting a gym membership due to them not believing I can be organized or actually due it I guess I'll have to start out by doing my workouts on my own with no machinery. ...I wonder what the rest of my group is doing.. : /  May look something like this.

Week 4

This week I was having a conversation with one of my group members Andrew and he was showing me pictures of how he wants his body to look like when hes older in a couple of years. As he showed me i noticed lots of the men in the pictures where really muscular too muscular for my taste, so I suggested not going that far and I think he agreed, or maybe he just "agreed" to get out of the conversation. Anyways as he showed me he mentioned that he didn't want to have any abs or to even work on abs, because" it takes to much time," but to me that means hes just lazy. Although he does work on his trapeziums, shoulders, biceps, forearms, chest and back legs. I don't know I'm not an expert but I am a girl and to me that seems weird to like have all of that and not have any abs or a little muscly tummy. I mean what if he does end up the way he wants to but has a big tummy with big boobs I don't know about but that's the way I see it. So for this week I will try to convince Andrew to work a little more on his abs for part of our 20% project. He will then be able to show off his results on our website. Just so you know I am not going to force him I mean who am I to tell him what to do with his body, but I know I can convince him. This is a picture of how he wants to look like.

week 3

A few weeks ago me and my partner Nadia started this type of healthy diet and challenges, but the day we did a video mentioned in my last blog (week 2) and when she left, she left to go eat some burgers with some friends. Therefor, I was alone till last Friday and my other group member told me that she would like to do the diet thing with me, which made me feel like I wasn't alone again. Even though we haven even started sharing ideas or meals we will work on that this week. This week I will also have to edit the video of our short healthy recipes with the little we got recorded from our two cameras. Sadly I do have a lot to do this week especially with this class which includes: blogs, edit video, update website, 30's protects, etc.  Although I will try my best to finish everything with my best effort and at the right time.

Week 2

Last weeks project was a complete success!!! Everything went as planned everybody brought their ingredients for all the recipes. Surprisingly we had my house all to ourselves which was a great experience, because we didn't have to worry about being loud or making a mess in my moms kitchen. Andrew and Nadia did a really great job while they explained and performed the recipe. Although, we didn't have a forth member to record us as we where hoping to we had to take turns recording each other recording.Sadly in the end we weren't able to record our reactions, because fist of all one of my cameras ran out of battery and the other the memory was full. I still have to edit the video so I can post them on our website. We are also thinking about making an instagram so we can post easy recipes and short workouts.

week 1

This week I discussed with my group about what could we do with our project. We where worried that there might not be anything else we could do with our project. I thought about doing healthy recipes and meeting up with my group at my house so we can try out some recipes and take a video and record us making the recipe and our reaction with the results. We could each bring our own ingredients so it wont be too expensive and we can divide our effort. We will be inviting one of our friends so she could record us so all of our group members could be in the video. Although one of my group members wont be able to attend this video due to after school soccer practice that is sadly keeps her away from most of our meetings, but she does help us a lot . After we record our progress I will then edit the video and post it on our website.

week 8

A few weeks ago we interviewed one of our friends Kristy. She talked about how she dealt with her stress about school, family, and relationships. She also gives examples on what she does do avoid it. Once Alex downloads and send me the videos I will then edit them and also combine them with other people's interviews and then I will put them into our website. Today we got an idea on what to research about and do interviews on which is test anxiety. We got this idea from one of our group members, Andrew. He was telling us about how stressed out he was because his grade depended on that test. Therefore we are planning to do a little bit of research about that and also find out how to prevent it or help it, because if one person feels this way and wants help then maybe many other students may also.
